I have been blogging most of this year (2005) but was hosting my own blog. I recently switched to Blogger.com mostly for the community and it's a bit more convenient to use than the one I was using.

One used to hear all sorts of horror stories about Blogger problems... but it was bought by Google I think that Google finally has it sorted out. It really does work well and it's free... even picture hosting is free. Can't beat it.
Yeah, I'm loving this place, so much nicer than trying to do it on my own. Plus I have a few folks who wanted RSS feeds so they could know when I did updates, this has it!
